Flow Frames are created with offset heights which are designed for less disturbance to the bees while harvesting.

Our earlier prototypes had an even surface which caused the capping to tear when the Flow Frame was opened.

Having the moving blade inset slightly, means that once the bees build it out, the movement happens deeper within the honeycomb. This helps the capping to stay intact as the honey drains out, leaving the bees with less disturbance.

After a few hours, they realise the honey has gone, and start uncapping and repairing the cells.

Clever little bees!
