Will my bees be bothered if I use a drill to add the Load Point Screws?
In our experience, the bees aren’t usually bothered when we drill the Load Point Screws into the hive boxes. However, the chances of this may depend on the temperament of your bees.
It is possible to add the screws to your hive while the bees are active – make sure to wear your bee suit.
If you’d like to reduce the risk of agitating your bees, you can work on the hive early in the morning or late in the evening when most of the colony is inside the hive. If you wish to further reduce the chance of bees taking exception to the installation, close the entrance using an entrance reducer, or by plugging it with steel wool or other non-airtight material.
